The Hobbit Project

The Sixth Grade class did a major project based on the book, the Hobbit.  Each student was assigned a character.  Meghan was Bilbo Baggins.  Each student re-wrote a portion of the book from the point of view of their character.
Meghan (as Bilbo) reads her chapter to the kindies (see Tressa third from the left)!

First Day of School

Wednesday, September 8, 2010
Meghan 6th grade, Evan 3rd grade, Tressa kindergarten!!

And to add to the excitement...
When I woke Tressa this morning I noticed she was missing a tooth!  Her first!  She was shocked!  I called to Craig and he said that her mouth did bleed the night before when he brushed her teeth.  So we're guessing he brushed that tooth right out and down the drain without either of them noticing.

Going medieval with the fifth graders...

On Friday the fifth grade class held a medieval feast.  The kids each gave mini-speeches that explained the ins and outs of a medieval feast.   Fascinating!
Meghan was the court jester.
She had a slew of jokes.  Here's a sample of the best:

Who invented King Arthur's round table?  Sir Cumference.
What is Camelot?  A place where people parked their camels in the middle ages.
Why did the king go to the dentist?  To get his tooth crowned.

Where did this little dark girl come from?

Could it be we've told Meghan one too many times that we bought her from the indians? This is how she dressed for "Colonial Ancestry Day" at school.... ..... hahaha! Actually she did a report on William Clark (as in Lewis & Clark) for "Colonial Day", so naturally she dressed as Sacagawea.

Meghan made these iPod valentines for her classmates. They were a BIG hit!
